"I use iStunt because we live and work in a digital, instantly changing world and the need for a particular stunt professional can come (and go) in an moment. I truly think a service such as iStunt will eventually replace answering services who have the opportunity to get facts wrong. Answering services were wonderful in the sixties and early seventies when no one possessed a cell phone and people carried beepers.

 

This is now 2011, EVERYONE has a cell-phone and invariably some form of 'smart phone' and so the need to try and find someone through an answering service has in my mind, simply vanished. During the making of The Amazing Spiderman, which was without question the largest movie shooting in Hollywood at the time, I or my Assistant NEVER ONCE USED AN ANSWERING SERVICE to call a Stunt Performer. I think that says it all.  

 

For any professional Stunt Performer to NOT be with something such as iSTUNT, would seem utterly ridiculous. If one single day of work is lost because of not being able to be contacted or to be able to get an up to date head shot electronically sent to the Stunt Coordinator, the amount lost would have paid for several years membership. It is simply a necessary tool of the trade for a working Stunt Professional. This is the age of new young Specialists emerging all the time. Older Coordinators cannot be expected to know all their names and numbers, but if they can be looked up under some specialty skill, they will be found and probably employed.  

 

I like to be able to call or have my assistant call a performer and have them send me a real life, up to date picture of what they look like today, that way, coupled with the information that is on the iStunt profile, I can decide if that is the person for the job. It makes perfectly simple sense.

 

I have found several people from their iStunt profile and they have received work on movies I am running because of it. That's fact.

 

I prefer iStunt because I have watched the mechanism develop and improve but it is so economical I see no reason why a Stunt professional who wishes to work does not not join ALL the available services and eventually it will become obvious which one is providing the most work and at that stage cut back to the single, most productive one. This is how all great businesses rise to the top, by simply being the most effective. There is probably room for several smart phone services and if I was a young up and coming Stunt Performer, relying on being called for work by being looked for and found, I would most certainly be with EVERY available method possible to be found."
